About the Department  

The Department was formed in September 2012 in accordance with the Academic Council resolution of July 3, 2012. It is a collaborative provision department formed in cooperation with the Federal Antimonopoly Service. The Department was formed in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement signed on 25 November 2011 and was the product of fruitful cooperation between the University and the Federal Antimonopoly Service. The Department potential is directly connected with the resources that the FAS and its territorial bodies have. The parties have an opportunity to move to a new stage of interaction under the Agreement concluded between the regulatory agency and the University. The key result of the cooperation is the highly qualified competition policy expert training. The Department objectives are determined by the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the University. The parties take into account the need to train highly-qualified personnel in the field of anti-trust regulation (both lawyers and economists who are in demand in the sector).  The key Department goal is to ensure that the students see a free competition as a prerequisite for the efficient market operation that ensures the welfare of consumers and the competitiveness of the Russian economy.
